How does the AI Quick Input work?
FridgeMinder's Quick Input uses advanced natural language processing. In the input box at the bottom of the inventory view, simply type or dictate your items like you would a messy list: "a gallon of milk, three carrots expiring in 4 days, bag of spinach". FridgeMinder will parse the quantities, names, and expiration dates, categorizing them automatically.
How do I change default storage expiration times?
FridgeMinder automatically suggests expiration dates based on the category. To override these, you can tap on any item in your list to edit its expiration date manually, or navigate to Settings to change the default shelf-life duration for specific food categories.
Does my data leave my device?
Your food inventory list and app history are stored securely on your device. Only food item strings you process through the AI input are passed to a lightweight parsing endpoint, with no personal identification metadata attached. Our priority is your privacy.
How do I generate recipes?
Tap the Recipes tab. FridgeMinder scans your current inventory and lists culinary recommendations. You can filter to only show recipes you have 100% of the ingredients for, or recipes where you're only missing 1 or 2 items.
