- Local Data Storage: All information regarding your food inventory (item names, categories, quantities, expiration dates) is stored securely on your device using local database protocols. We do not transmit this data to external servers.
- AI Text Parsing & Recipes: To convert messy text inputs into structured data and suggest recipes, the app utilizes lightweight client-side API requests. No personal identifiers are attached to these calls, and the content processed is strictly limited to names of ingredients and expiration dates.
- Optional Cloud Backup: If you use Apple's iCloud Drive to back up your device or application data, that storage is secured and encrypted by Apple under their standard terms and policies.
Information Security
Since your food inventory is stored on-device, the security of your data relies on your device’s security features (such as passcode, FaceID, and system encryption). We recommend keeping your iOS operating system updated to the latest version to benefit from Apple's security patches.
Third-Party Services
Our app does not display advertisements, run third-party tracker scripts, or integrate analytics SDKs that profile your behavior. We do not share your grocery or dining choices with any third-party marketing companies.
Children's Privacy
FridgeMinder is safe for general audiences. Since we do not collect any personal data or transmit it to online databases, we do not knowingly or unknowingly harvest personal data from children under the age of 13.
